New member here - wonder if i can get an opinion what I think is a trans problem - 2011 Sport 4.0 4x2 autom. 34K miles. I get a constant "whine" in low gear. The whine goes away when the trans shifts into 2nd. My dealer tells me that's normal, they all whine like that. I think something is worn and should be replaced. Am I right or do all 4.0 autom. Rangers whine in 1st gear?

Yeah my auto had a whine to it before it came out did it from day one pretty much every ford I've ever owned has that 1st gear whine almost like its winding up lol even my 84 f150 does it i think its normal unless you hear obvious grinding noises i doubt its anything to serious.
