I need help with my transfer case!!
 

Would appreciate any help any one might me able to give me. I have a 94 Ranger 4x4...having major problems with my electronic transfer case. Have heard from a friend that there is a manual shifter that can be used on the transfer case instead of the electronic, with still being able to used the auto hubs. Does anyone out there know of such??Would appreciate any advice/ideas/web pages that may have such set-up!

Danny, there is such a thing. It is called The Shifster. I just ordered and received one but have yet to install it. Looks like a good part and should do the job.

Thanks Kevin, just ordered one. I did notice the t-case in the video was a BW 1356 and I have a BW1354......hopefully this will still work. I appreciate the info, hopefully will have the shiftster in a week or so.

This was not spam, I was only trying to help out someone with a problem. I have nothing to do with the Shifster company. I had just purchased one and thought it would help solve Danny's problem.

Thanks guys for proving me right, next time you email each other wait more than an hour between forum posts when you don't return for days.

For being a trail repair, you can just pull the shift motor and turn the knob with a pliers if you really need to get out of 4wd. No need to bolt on the 75 dollar hunk of metal. Then bolt the shift motor back on, disconnect the power to it so it doesn't activate again.

The shift motor does not like sand, dirt or water I suggest cleaning it if yours has some years on it.

Sounds like a real HACK repair idea you got there BLHDE. Some of us like to fix things the right way instead of mangling the shaft with a pair of pliers. Many people know the stock shift motor was not one of Fords better ideas so why not make a permanent fix? If you want to keep fixing your truck with pliers go ahead but don't crap on someone else's thread just because you don't like my suggestion.

So removing the bad part, shifting the tcase back to 2wd the reinstalling the bad part is a hack repair. Then from your instructions I see You are one step away from duct tape here. This will not keep the connection water tight.

Now lets see here, you are commuting distance from the area code of the company in question. Admit you two work for this place and are trying to sell things in an unforum approved manner.


Yelling changes nothing, welcome to the internet. The whole point of this place is to discuss ideas, the fact your getting mad means you don't have the ability to discuss ideas in a positive manner. Your name calling will not help you sell your parts. In this economy cheaper is better, and this expensive, inconvenient, hunk of metal is not a good for a daily driver.

Well it is obvious that BLHDE has some sort of hidden issue with this particular company.

I have nothing to do with the company, again I was just sharing info.
