Just got 4:56's installed =)

Yup yup, got my truck outta the shop on Friday and drove it on a trip to Ocotillo Wells. Man what a difference in power, I love it !

So much better then that stock 7.5 piece of ca ca. The only problem is I'm running them on 32's and I need to upgrade to 35's, it's a bit overkill but not too bad.

4:56's ftw!

ha ha ha, I have 4.10's and 31's so I could only imagine what that must be like. I personally know I need to swap my engine out. its getting so tired. But nice, you should throw up some speedo shots of the gears and tires making a run.

hell ya! im runnin 33s and 4.56s and its perfect! just wish i had another gear in the transmission

I love 4.56's. I ahve 33's and 4.56's also. IT is amazing in 4low. The thing feels unstoppable in 4low.

Will do, I'll take a video of me smashing down the street, but for now I have a video up on youtube from this past weekend.

Anyways, I wish I would have upgraded them sooner the power up hills and shifting is amazing.

I really want 35's now :scool:

I just got my 33" tires put on and I feel nothing wrong with the stock 3.73's. I am happy with the extra gas milage on the highway. City driving seems nearly the same to me, although I have a 4.0L...

i hate to be the bearer of bad news but you need to re-gear.

you need at least 4.10's

your going to kill your trans soon i promise! (if its a automatic)

and your not seeing a increase in mileage either

eblank8 03-26-2008 07:45 AM

Really? It takes off just fine with little gas and gets to speed just fine. I've never punched the gas with the stock tires, so I wouldnt be able to tell if the tires make the truck significantly slower or not. I am gentle on my truck. Maybe it is the extra initial torque my engine has vs the SOHC, I dont know. The truck was dirt slow then and it is dirt slow now. I don't feel much difference. :-p
How can larger gears NOT give better gas milage on the highway? I am sure they help out a little. My truck is a highway truck anyway.
(If the engine or trans ever go, V8 here I come :) )
