Fire always makes things interesting.
Went up coyote hunting last weekend and ended up not hunting but rather just cruising around. Wasnt really wheeling so to say. ANyhow I end up stuck in the snow. I dig out and had to back out about 1/2 mile to get to a spot that was flat enough to turn around.
I turn around, shut the truck off and get out to pee. Thats when I hear a purging sound. It was the tranny! It was purging ATF out the vent lines, wich was falling onto the Catalatic converter. BAM instant fire. Glad there was plenty of snow to put the fire out with.
Since it was getting dark I ended up calling for a ride and leaving the truck till morning. Added a quart (it was full when I left the house the day before) and then fired it up. We wiped the tranny down and then moved it around a lil bit and couldnt see any issues and it was workin properly
Went down and had the tranny flushed out and a also a new filter put in.
So far It hasnt acted wired but I still got my fingers crossed. Bout the only thing I can figure that happened was she just got to hot. Goona look into a temp gauge and possibly a secondary tranny cooler.
