Help!!!!!

My shaft has been grinding the past few days since using 4wd a lot because of the snow... I got out and checked it and I think my shaft is done... Called Shane and he thinks it's done too... Please help! Worst freakin time for a shaft to go out... in 2ft of snow... Worst snow storm in like 40 years is what they're saying for Gresham, OR.

What do you think?

I know they're known to go out after like 10-12k miles... I have 22 on mine... So maybe I got lucky.... :(

It's fine when I have to back up in 4wd... Soon as I go forward it starts to make a really loud clicking noise like it's skipping splines. It's way bad. I have some cam-locks for my 35's but I don't wanna put em on cuz I'll have to air my tires back up cuz I'm rockin 15lbs in all 4.... Ugh.... I hate the DS problem with these! lol

Well that's in the near future... For now I just need to get it fixed so I can run around and do **** for my parents.... They're advising all cars to stay off the road because they'll get high centered.. It's bad out here.

Shane is going to go home and grab a shaft... He's on his way home from WA and we're gonna try and swap it out for another one and see if we can't get it fixed... Sucks not having 4wd when you need it lol

Yeah that looks gone to me. But think of it like this. You got 10K miles more than most!

Because of the angles the lift makes... with the shaft... Wears harder on the shafts.... They usually go after 10-12k miles... I ended up getting 22k on mine... Lucky me.... Unlucky time to lose the shaft. lol

Yeah, we're gonna try to make something work from Shane's shop until I can get out and order one from the 4wd shop here... Nothing is open because no one can get around... just us 4wd's... and most of us 4wds have chains... That's how bad it is.

welcome to why we laughed at you OR guys that passed on getting superlift shafts..

it wasnt a matter of *if* it was a matter of *when* it would be completely hosed...

order up a superlift shaft or bandage it with a another stock one good luck about 5k-10k max again...

Zach, I didn't make this thread to say I told you so or rub anything in my face with knowledge you and I both know. I knew I needed a shaft at some point. But for the time being, why fix it if it isn't broke? So leave your negativity outta this.

I'm sitting here laughing at those who laughed at me for only making it to 12k miles. I got almost twice that. So I really don't give a ****.

Just for that comment I will be using another stock shaft because nothing around me is open. Too much snow. So when something opens up next I'll be either checking a price on a shaft or having a custom one built by a friend who owns a shop most likely using adapters so I can use a regular shaft.

It seemed like there was a factory driveshaft that would work with a flange change that wouldn't have any binding problems. But I can't remember what it was off or what thread it was posted in.

Maybe look in the jy for now even if you just get a factory one for a little while to get through the season.

yep...tre's front shaft is done. when mine went, i caught it early...no torn up boots.

I brought over my stocker and an extra stocker i bought in case i didn't get my new shaft back in time for this weather we've got right now. i lucked out. unfortuately, my shafts still did the same thing in tre's truck. i vote bad front shaft.

i think tonight we're going to throw in my double cardon off my truck to see if it truely is the front shaft that's bad(which im' like 90% sure it is). His best bet is to fork the green and get the superlift shaft here in 2days tops.
