Trying to decide whether to run 4.56 or 4.88 with my 33" tires. Any input is welcome. I currently have 4.10 gears, run a manual trans., and have 4.0. Its not a daily driver as I drive a company vehicle through the week, but I do go on the freeway and travel some in it. Most driving is in town, and I wheel it 4-6 times a year.

4.56s made a big difference with the 33" tires.

I stay in firth on highway now and got two mpg increase.

4.88, IMHO, are too deep unless you are doing a lot of mudding or rock crawling.

If its mostly used for driving roads I would go with 4.56. I have 4.88s and 33's and its to much for going down the hwy. I run about 3200 rpms at 70 in 5th gear with the 3.0L. speaking of which its going to be doing about 800 miles of highway over the next 5 days... Its good for some light cruising around town though. fast acceleration or able to use higher gears for lower speeds. I can do 30mph in 5th pretty easy without touching the gas much and still have decent acceleration if i need it.
