Slave Cylinder Repair Cost

I'm almost positive that the slave cylinder in my 1998 4.0L Ranger has gone out, and it is getting progressively harder to change gears. I've looked it up, and I don't think I'm confident enough in my mechanic abilities to repair it on my own, so I was wondering how much it should cost to get it done by a mechanic. I have one in mind, but just want to get a feel for the average price before I get a quote from him. Thanks.

Prices range depending on where you live, and the shop you go to. Best thing to do is ask the shop for a ballpark figure of what it might cost, compare prices of other shops.
