Oil Pan Gasket remove and install.
I have a question for anyone that can help me in this situation. I had to pull my transmission and I'm putting a used one back in my truck. I figured that while I had the transmission out I might as well get some of the other repairs done also. So I replaced the rear main oil seal and I was putting a new oil pan gasket in also. Well I got all the bolts out then realized that I may have to pull or lift the engine to get the pan out. I am also doing the rack and pinion at the same time. My question is will I be able to get the oil pan out without pulling the engine or renting a hoist? Any help will be greatly appreciated. 2005 Ranger XLT 3.0l Automatic transmission.

Just wanted anyone reading this post to know that I was able to get the oil pan out and replace the gasket. I did so without having to remove the oil pump. I did remove the motor mount nuts. I don't think that was really necessary though because when I jacked it up from under the motor at the left rear of the motor at the corner of the oil pan it never came off the motor mount studs. So if anyone has the transmission out like I did and you have an oil leak this is a great time to replace the oil pan gasket.
