yeah the cv boot did come off and the bearings started falling out last week so i know i do need a cv axle but when the bearing did come while i was driving it did make that same noise, i would have never thought about that might be making a noise, thanks man

sounds like your transfercase shift motor isnt engaging all the way, with your truck up on jackstands in 4x4, can you narrow down the source of the noise?

my cv axle messed up the other week so i went ahead and took it all the out and today i put it in 4wheel drive and held down the brake and gave it a little bit of gas and it went forward but it didnt make that noise anymore so i'm guessing it was the an pass side cv axle making that noise

Have you ever heard a Honda or other FWD car clicking while it turns? Dry CV joints which are on their way out. Same thing can happen to live axle Rangers.

You have IFS. That is the only way to get power to the wheels with an IFS. Good luck man.
