Looks like its SAS time
Well, my truck is officially a complete pile of ****
The front hub looks like it split apart, the wheel, while in the air, wobbles around like crazy, and one of the seals on the hub looks like its not there + there are metal shavings everywhere.
so instead of messing around with this, im going to swap in the D44 front axle and the D60 rear.
I plan on going with a leaf setup for simplicity/cost, I dont really do any extreme off roading, and no rock crawling, so im not worried about maximum travel/articulation. basically, its a mud truck.
Ive done a little reading about it, but now its time for sure. Time to get educated

I think im going to try to get them in as cheaply as possible, and just run the current diffs/gear thats in the axle.
im afraid i wont be able to turn 35's with 3.55's though. I think it will be fine for a while though, my only drive that i HAVE to take is 40mph tops.
Lockers and 4.56's or 4.88's will be in the future

They are out of a full size truck, so they need to be shortened
A local shop is going to do it, my buddy said it cost him 200 per axle to have them shortened/re splined. but ive gotta call and verify this.
I started stripping down the axles today to clean em up get them ready.
Hopefully ill get to ordering some of the suspension parts tonight

they have the same bolt pattern as a ranger, so im going to re-use my break setup, 2 months ago i put brand new rotors and calipers on the front, and the ones on the other axles are pretty rusty.
I drained the diff fluid a few mins ago, and it was dirty, but everything looks good in there.
im going with leafs, not sure on how much total lift i want yet, either 6 or 8" :D

they have the same bolt pattern as a ranger, so im going to re-use my break setup, 2 months ago i put brand new rotors and calipers on the front, and the ones on the other axles are pretty rusty.

i had one of my rotors off today, and i slipped it on the D44, and it fit perfect. All im gonna have to worry about with using my stock ranger brakes is a break caliper bracket.
Edit: I might ditch this front axle, in favor of the waggy narrow track axle, that is the right width, right from the get go, i just did a quick search, and it looks like they can be found pretty cheap

Word... my rear axle went in yesterday... gonna be doin the front w/in the next couple weeks!
Oh BTW... I'm using a waggy front 44 and a Rodeo rear 44... I would go w/ the waggy since its already the right size... look over on pirate, they have them for sale all the time...
