Manual stick shift sticking
Manual stick shift sticking
Hey guys, I'm completely ignorant when it comes to cars and I'm hoping you'll all laugh at how easy this fix will be. (Hopefully that means its cheap too!)
Generally, the stick shift works fine on my '97 Ranger. But whenever I'm in stop-and-go traffic or if I am stopped on a hill and I'm balancing the clutch, the stick resists going into gear (never have a problem going out f gear). I'm assume the problem involved the clutch, but I don't know how. Perhaps something is flooding because I'm using the clutch too much? This has only been an issue for the past couple years. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sounds to me like either the clutch slave cylinder or master cylinder are failing, or someone has installed a clutch in this truck that does not have an adjustable pressure plate. i would install a new master and slave, new clutch and pressure plate, resurface the flywheel and replace the transmission fluid
