Hey guys,
I've got a 98 ranger that when I try to put it into 4x4 , I can here the relay click a few times then the 4hi and 4lo light flashes 6 times then goes out and will flash 6 times every so often. When I first took off the shift motor I was able to get it to go from 2x4 to 4x4 and back a couple times then it stopped.
I also found my vacuum lines that are plugged into the hub are dry rotted. I disconnected the bad line from the good line , plugged the good line. And tryed to see if it would go ahead and put the transfer case in 4hi when I hit the switch. No Luck!
My questions are
1. To the shift motor I have 3 wires with pulsing current coming in, should there be more?
2. If the front wheels don't lock in, will it keep the shift motor from working?
