Metallic click when depressing the clutch
Hello,
I have a 2005 Ford Ranger with about 150,000 miles on her, just recently in the past 3 weeks I got the clutch, master and slave cylinder, and fly wheel replaced by a professional mechanic and just this morning I started up my truck and my clutch pedal make a metallic click almost immediately after pressing it.
Me being a worrier, this has me a bit concerned. I have no idea what it could be or where to look. Any ideas?
Thanks

There is a Neutral switch on the Clutch pedal pushrod in the cab, it could have shifted.
I would take it back to the shop and have them give it a look
If switch pops off then starter motor will stop working
The original switch is fine to reuse, the new master comes with a new pushrod, so old switch is taken off the old master and installed on the new master's pushrod
It is held in place by a slide type clip, which can start to come loose if it wasn't pushed in all the way
When clutch pedal is pushed down all the way, switch is activated, this is "neutral" as far as this safety switch is concerned, it allows starter motor activation, to prevent starting "in gear"
This is a carry over "name" when manuals had an actual "Neutral switch", like a Reverse light switch.
