97 ranger clutch job
My 97 Ford Ranger needs a clutch job. I witnessed brake fluid dripping from the throw out bearing on the slave cylinder. I got a clutch kit to do the whole job, The kit came with a throw out bearing and no slave cylinder. Why would a kit come without this slave? It may just be the throw out, but it took me long enough to drop the transmission not to change this slave as well. I was just wondering if Ford thinks that the slave normally doesn't go out and it is the bearing that fails.

The slaves are problematic on most rangers. When i did my swap i used a slave from advanced it definitely seems much more heavy duty than the factory unit and had better reviews. And i searched for parts for months before my swap and never saw a kit with the slave included. However i ordered an upgraded clutch and it came with a better bearing to handle the bigger clutch cause it weighed more.
