First and foremost, A HUGE THANKS to Justin, Greg, Rob, and Eric for making this come together.

It's still just a 5r44e but it has all new internal parts as well as a shift kit.

I'll get installed pictures soon. The trans pan is powdercoated so it's pretty sweet.

It leaps and bounds over what I had. The shifts are quick and firm but not overly harsh. It's exactly what I wanted.

Well the trans that was in my truck was one I got out of a junkyard for the 4x4 swap. It supposedly had 88k miles on it but acted like it had 188k on it. It was leaking in a few spots and shifted like crap. 1-2 shift wasn't a shift, more of a slide..... But the trans that I had rebuilt was actually my old 2wd one that I got a 4x4 extension housing for and Justin got a 4x4 output shaft for.

I have heard that often times with shift kits, a lot of people want a tuner to reduce shift pressures on some shifts.

I love the firm shifts. Its not bad for daily driving at all.

lstc4.0L 02-10-2010 02:11 PM

who's shift kit did they put in it?

0RangerEdge2 02-10-2010 04:11 PM

Transgo if I remember correct. It's actually called a shift correction kit.
