My Ranger shifts forward from park but won't go back. Bad linkage?
Hello everyone,
My Ranger XLT 3.0 will shift through all the gears down to 1, but I can't go back up from 1. I have to kill the engine, get under it and manually move the transmission arm to park to start it again. Anyone else ever had this problem? What did it turn out to be?

What year is the Ranger XLT 3.0?
Google: Ford loose column shifter
All the Ford trucks had similar issues, so Ranger, explorer or F-series video will be helpful
Also google: ford ranger broken shift tube
These are less similar but basically the same repair on all the ford trucks
