I have a 91 Ranger with Automatic Hubs.... recently did a trans swap (auto to auto) and also a transfer case swap (auto to manual). Parts truck that has manual hubs is buried in about 2 ft of snow and does not run... any way for me to activate these automatic hubs ? obviously the push button switch will not engage them because the circuit is not complete missing the transfer case... this might be a dumb question, but just thought i'd throw it out there.

 

as soon as the front axle gets torque to it, the auto hubs engage. It isn't anything electrical that does the engaging of the auto hubs.

If i were you, i would swap in manual hubs for those autos.....the autos are known for grenading when you need them most...

 

wow, now i feel extremely stupid... sorry for the dumb question. i guess i figured that it was a vaccum system like some of the newer ones and i believe that mid 90's chevys use that too.... but now that im thinking about it, as many times as ive been under my truck never once have i seen any kind of vaccum lines or a pump.... lol thanks for the help.

haha yuah auto ones are complete garbage id swap maual ones if they dont work and if u plan on needing 4x4

 

Go get some Warren Hubs. Easy install and they work great.
