Icon8 Need Help ASAP!!!

Long story short somehow my front CV shafts managed to lock up today at about 65mph. Both the inner and outer boots are in pieces and all the internals of the shafts started falling off the truck. I pulled the front driveshaft off and I am wondering if I can remove the CV shafts and essentially be a 2wd rig. Im just not sure if removing the shafts will make the spindle any weaker because the axle attaches the cv to the spindle. Any help would be apprecaited because I need to drive 30 minutes to the nearest parts store. Would it be safe to drive????

I have never done this but from what I have read, you need something in the "spindle" end. So no you can't take them out.

the shaft holds the wheel bearings together. i would not take the cv out and drive it.

well if the boots are gone anyway just remove the actual shaft that runs between the cvs and leave the stub ends in the diff and the spindle. The end in the diff clips in and end in the spindle bolts in so they wont go anywhere.
