New clutch for a 96
New clutch for a 96
I posted earlier asking for help troubleshooting some clutch problems. I've established that there is nothing wrong with the transmission and that the clutch is cooked. This weekend I plan on digging into this project and replacing the clutch, pressure plate, slave, master, and rear engine seal (since I'll have the trans out). I remember reading somewhere that dropping the transmission out of a ranger equipped with the "Twin I Beam" suspension can be a PITA, can anyone attest to this? Also, any tips for someone who has a healthy amount of mechanical knowledge but little experience working on a transmission/clutch short of replacing a master cylinder in a jeep?

There are a few videos for the 2WD models
Never done a 1996 4cyl but on the V6 engines you do need to remove exhaust "Y" pipe, and the bolts can be rusted out.
The rear of the engine should be supported so top of engine and any parts there do not hit firewall and get broken/bent
