new clutch line: how do you get it in there?

the hydraulic line from the clutch master cyl to the slave cyl. how do you get that thing in there? im not hooking anything up until its in place, i bench bled the m/c along with the reservoir & s/c line attached. have the brake booter tied up out of the way. wish they would have used a s.s. braided line rather than the hard plastic molded line. seems impossible to put in.

If I remeber right it wasnt to hard to reinstall the line after I bench bleed the master cylinder.

Do you remember how you took it out?

well thats the thing, i removed the old one & put a new one in, old one had been cut & spliced back together. i took it apart at the (non-factory) compression fitting, and just pulled it up through the top, then went underneath & removed the quick dissconnect & the 3" of line left on the trans. couldnt really see the routing of the line when it was in there.

Bench bleed the master with the line on it, then install it and connect it to the slave.

got it in finnally, gave up last night & tried it this morning, sometimes you just have to walk away for a little bit. got it flat towed out to the farm to replace the l/s ttb. found out my junkyard D35 was actually the D28 hybrid. was going to swap differentials, but when the end or the radius arm snapped off from trying to remove the nut (on the junkyard axle) i called it a day. at least i got the old, bent beam off.

Glad you got in back in. You are so right when you say sometimes you just gotta walk way.

truck back on the road now, set the toe with a tape, sometime i'll pull the front tires & check the caster/camber with my angle guage. feels good to have my ranger back, though it felt like a golf cart after driving a full-size bronco & a F250 superduty for nearly 2 weeks. loved the big bronco, the superduty is just more truck than i care to be driving.
