noisy m5od

i have a m5od 4*2 it ****s perfect no noise and goes right into gear but in all gears while im driving theres a sound coming from the transmission its like a slight grinding scratching kind of noise. Its from a scrap yard and i have no clue how many miles are on it when i drained it there where some shavings on the magnet and some in the fluid that poured out that the magnet didnt catch but no real big chucks that i could see and it all looked silver. I was wondering if the m5od-R1 is just a noisy transmission or if i picked a bad apple

does it stop when you push in the clutch? if so, its your throwout bearing. mine was noisy till i got a new slave and it came with a new one. if not, it might be your pilot bearing and it may seen that its the tranny.

The M5OD is just a noisy transmission. My 2000 with 150,000 km (93,000 mi) makes quite a bit of noise so I wouldn`t worry about it.
