i use ATF like it calls for, why is calls for AUTOMATIC transmission fluid will always be a mystery to me, maybe ill switch over to syncromesh next time i flush it, i used to work at Vatozone, always saw it but never heard anything about it
im not, i just have no idea what the hell hes talking about haha.

i had atf in mine and i had problems with it, i guess im just not lucky like other people.

the only thing i wonder about is how well it flows in cold weather. dont want it to not get where it needs to when its cold out. ive got mobil-1 atf in mine right now.

over on ORR Dave and Julie put motor oil in his tranny. Said it stopped almost all the sounds and it works much better. He is still i nthe testing stage as he is not sure what the effects are.

i would think you would have foaming issues with motor oil, now motorcylce engine oil might work, it could have additives to reduce foaming. just dont use gear oil, i did that once with a jeep trans, absolutly runied it, was hard to shift in winter and come spring was very noisy.

Motor oil was recommended for the trans in my 95 Integra.

Ive worked for 7 year in transmission shop and found out after some time that manual transmission rarely care about what type of oil goes in it. Some trans calls for atf in one model of car and the same trans in another model will call for engine oil. So personnaly i always put synchromesh oil in all the manual trans i do, its the one i found to work the best with all makes of trans and was specialy design for fiber lined synchro (worst idea ever).

The stock transmission in my mustang called for the ATF but the heavy duty Tremec 3550 calls for the synchromesh fluid. My mustang shifts awesome but I havn't tried the synchromesh in my truck yet.

I use Synchromesh in my truck. Beat the hell out of it. No problems.

ive had pennzoil syncromesh fluid in mine now for over a year, about 14,000 miles put on. no problems. no worse in cold weather than the atf was.
