posi?

I'm assuming this is probably a trac lok, dont have any more info on it yet. hoping it's for 28 spline.

seem like a good buy? I don't know any info on the condition though. Kind of a shitty ad, how do people expect to sell anything? anyway... might get it if it looks like a keeper. I don't do a whole lot of offroadin, a little extra traction on the boat ramp would be nice though.

comments? concerns?

what do I need to watch for to be busted? I'm not so good with rear end shenanigans.

number stamped on it he says is E3TW-BA

now according to the internet, E3 means 1983, T means truck, and W means axle.
makes sense so far... then the next part is the general part number. all the examples I see are numbers. what the heck does BA mean? that can't be the part number.

as long as this is for an 8.8, and 28 spline, it should work right? does it matter what gears I use with it? I have 4.10s now, can I use them with this carrier?

if its an 83, then its a 7.5 inch. Ranger did come with 8.8s until 1990 when the 4.0 came along.

He said he pulled it from a mustang that he built for racing. Wouldn't think that would use a 7.5, am I reading the number wrong? Is that actually the part number or just the casting number? I've found on some forums peole have this code from 89s and such. Guy seemed to know what he was talking about and had a fancy voicemail.

How can I tell if it is an 8.8 by looking? Is there a 28 spline 7.5?
