When I did my gears I used some that were in the diff and a few out of a rebuild kit I had. Didn't have any issues with finding a combo that work.

Exactly - I was clarifying to Michael that the idea of them being in existence wasn't really ever in question.

If I had access to a Ford Dealers selection there would be some big shims and that would be nice but I will have the OEM pieces machine thinner and then use the shims that come in the rebuild kit to fill in.

I am hoping I am making the correct move but only time will tell but I think it will work ok.

Rear diff is an auburn ected front is a Torsen ls unit. Did my gears in February of last year.

Gotcha sounds like I hit the production run just on time.

There's no need to machine the factory "super shims". That's overkill and will only add to the cost of the upgrade. Any (experienced) installer would have no issues using whatever make up/combination is needed to get that backlash and mesh pattern just right. If I recall correctly, my Auburn Ected and 4.88's is using a standard super shim per side and a small stack of the super thin standard shims. The shim combo was almost the same with a Ford open carrier and 4.88's.

The list is too long to write it in.
Power windows and mirrors and new sounds will be first but probably won't get started until Cali.
Thanks for asking.

Got the gears in, getting about 2mpg better, will see in time.

Went to a local Tire Store, ordered the new 33"x15" BFG ATs and some new rims.
They called yesterday, I ran there as quickly as I could and waited an hour to find out the rims they ordered had a BC of 139.7 not the 114.3 that the Ranger takes.

That $ucks, plain and simple.
