and from the factory. 8.8 in a XLT what spline count should i have? 31 spline?

i know im not going bigger than a 33 ever.. im putting a camburg 5.5 kit on the truck and want to be able to use the travel ill gain without rubbing or bottoming out.

would it be better in the long run to buy a 9" and build that instead of changing axles to a higher spline count
