Rear Diff Breather Fitting Size

So I "thought" I was ready to extend my rear diff tube by using some yellow hose coil with fittings I found at Home Depot but then when I pulled off the original fitting I can't figure out what size it is, let alone if it is a NPT pipe fitting or other. Can someone help me

clamp the hose on down there. its not a thread on. not that i know of anyway. i just used a long line and mounted it to the frame. i can flex alot and it does not stretch, why would you need a coiled line?

This is the fitting that comes out of the axle tube. My idea was to use some coiled compressor hose that has a 1/4" NPT male fitting that I "thought" was the right size fitting.

You cant take that with you find a hose that fits over it and screw it back in or am I missing something?
