Look for the axle code on the driver's side door/door jam and post it here.
Don't go with a 7.5 , just rebuild what you have.
If you have a limited slip you may just have to replace a few parts.

could always get one out of an expo...then youll have rear discs and 31 spline axles...minimal fab work required

well you have to cut off and reweld the spring perches...expos are mounted differently than the rangers and then do the brake lines

7.5 is a lot weaker than the 8.8...ford made the 8.8 standard with the 4.0 for a reason
