rear steering
has anyone do rear steering on a ranger yet?????? i was thinking about doing this to a 91 ranger but i dont know where to start.... i know it shouldnt be that hard with basic knowledge of hydrolics and so on..... alo i plan on adding a link so when and if i idrive it on the street i can make it to where the rear end has no play.... this by far wont be a DD and will proab never see the HW unless its getting towed....... thanks for any input.....

You'd basically need to find a solid front axle with steering, weld on spring perches, get some hydraulic rams, hydraulic pump, on and on
|
not necesarily alon, actually you would find a rear axle and ad inner Cs and knuckles to it, but why would you need it? theres plenty of ways to do it but i just dont see the need for a DD...
|
unless it is a serious off roader that goes into TIGHT places or rock crawling, there is no need for it...
|
even then it not even close to necessity...
the only time i see it fully justified is comp buggies... |
or with Rockwells cause steering rocks are kickass.
|
I know a guy with rockwells on a suburban with all wheel steering that thing is kick ass!

its not going to be a DD i want it cause i do plan on making a extreme off road rig, but it is mainly just a thought that has been in my head for a long time..... i know basicly everything i need which isnt that much, knowing what size of rams would be interesting, but i have had to rebuild the hydraulics on what we call the shell side machine at work (i work for a hdroblasting company) so the actual build shouldnt be hard just fabing the mounts.... i was thinking about taking a solid front axle but i dont know..... like i said this is just a thought.....and with the amount of lift i want to go with it might not be a good idea....... thanks for the input.....
