This is not for my ranger..but for my cousin, he has a 1995 Ranger 4.0 4x4 with an automatic transmission. Everything has 230,000 miles but the transmission is the only thing bad so he wants to fix and keep it. He has the money and has decided to let me do the swap or rebuild for him, I had a couple questions..

1. What transmission is in the truck? or what usually comes with them..

2. How much does a rebuild kit run for them?

3. How much would a brand new transmission cost?

3. Has anyone taken a tranny out of the same setup as the truck I just explained? and if so I would appreciate any pointers

As far as I know it should be an 4R55E. They were in 95-01 4.0 rangers. You can probably find one at a junk yard for cheap.

 

^ is right on the tranny its not!!! the A4LD and thank your lucky stars it aint there hard to find running
