Rebuilt Tranny With some issues

Hello to everyone,

I have a 2003 Ranger 4.0 Fx4 with a auto tranny, 5r55e

Had it rebuilt. When I received the truck back I noticed some things that didnt seem normal as it was before....The two issues doesnt happen all the time, just now and then.
1.) When the tranny shifts from first to second it shifts a little rough.
2.) When i believe its shifting from second to third around 35 mph, the rpms go up like its not engadged andthen drops back and engages.
3.) When reverse engages its like it slams into gear, loud as hell.

When I notified the shop of the issues the mechanic said i need to drive it a while so the tranny computer can re learn itself (for the first two issues). and for third issue, it was hard t understand the mechanic but i did get this from him, he said he puts more pressureon something (more than spec) because firmer is better than loose. Thats why it seems to slam, jerk or whatever into reverse. Thats how his transmissions are rebuilt.

Please guide me as to what could be wrong. As the first two issues I have never had before and i know isnt right.not too sure about the reverse thing.

some Transmission shops put a better shift kit in the trans to firm up the shifts but it should slam into reverse. The reverese on the 5r55e is fully mechanical so something is wrong internally. Take it back and have them check it out. The flaring of the RPMs is not a good thing sound like it slipping into gear. Mine did this is check out my Total Trans Failure thread

I did take it back. thatswhen they said to give the computer time to re learn thethe shifting. They did test drive it and said it shifted great for them.I know it doesnt do it every time, but i do know mytruck andi knowits not normal. i wish i knew what it wasso i could tell them and they couuld find thesource.

one you get there opinion tell them you know the issue and you want it repaired at no cost as it's their fault. Now in reverse does it just clunk? is there any vibration just cruising on the highways 60-70mph?

reverse is rough, you can feel and hear it throughout the whole truck. No vibration that i can tell at traveling speeds.
