Replace driveshaft

If a person where to remove there stock driveshaft and replace it with a lighter weight driveshaft, what benefits would the driver notice?

rangererv 09-02-2006 02:26 PM

my guess would be for vibration and stength

zabeard 09-02-2006 03:21 PM

doubt it. prolly ont notice anything

05ranger 09-02-2006 04:08 PM

i figured less vibration, a little get up an go

04lvl2 09-02-2006 04:45 PM

There will be less rotating mass, probably not enough to notice anything

Isn't your driveshaft aluminum?? If so, don't worry about it.

i don't know, but i'm feeling a vibration(in the gear shifter) when i accelerate around 60-85 mph. i figure i may have bent it a little when i bottomed out on a crest of a hill

Go have it balanced then.
