rough idle, won't run.

Hey there how are y'all lately? Since buying my truck in the summer of this year, it always had this strange thing it would do until today when it suddenly got worse. It would idle rough going up and down as if it were having some sort of breathing, or maybe electrical problem? Most of the time it ran fine but sometimes while going around 50-70 MPH (though it could happen at any speed) it would suddenly loose power and feel like its running 3 or 4 cylinders when it has 6. Sometimes pulling out of a place it would have no power at all and i would have to floor it to make it move anywhere till suddenly it regained enough power to move. Today i had to slam on my brakes to avoid hitting some idiot who slammed on his brakes to when the light turned yellow. After that my engine started idling very rough and going maybe 200 or 300RPM (hundred not thousand) , when i gave it gas to go it just died, wouldn't restart for anything. After spraing some starter fluid in the manifold it ran better but still rough, till it was out of starting fluid then idle roughly and die.

I've been given all sorts of suggestions but i need to know from people who really know these trucks. Its a 2004 Mazda B4000 , 5 speed, 4x4.

Symptoms , always idled rough since i bought it, idles better when warm, now will start but dies if using gas pedal, runs better with starting fluid but dies once it has run through the manifold. Sometimes loses power while running and i don't know why. SInce i have had it, i am not certain if it has air leaks or bad coil pack, or other electric or electronic trouble.

It reads like you need to change spark plugs or at least regap them
See if Ford Dealer has a sale on Motorcraft spark plugs and spark plug wires coming up or just past and will give you same deal
Only use Regular copper or Double Platinum never single platinum, just FYI
And Motorcraft spark plugs it you can get them, Autolite is next best for these 4.0l engines, they will "eat" other brands

Coil packs rarely fail, unplug its 4 wire connector and plug it back in, that cleans its connectors

Change fuel filter, should be done every 5 years, $15

Clean MAF sensor, every 2 years, or every year if you live in dusty area

Sensors rarely fail but are often replaced, so if in doubt unplug any sensor and then plug it back in, that cleans its connectors, sensors run on 5 volts or Less, so any dirty connections causes issues
