finally uploaded pics off friends camera. needed to reseal my diff, it's been leaking for a couple weeks. and this is what it looked like when i opened it.





Likely cause:

 

Yeah that is pretty bad. I would run cheap lube for like a day then change it for good stuff.

 

i let it drain for a few hours til it was almost completely dry.

 

Just make sure you use a decent amount of Brakleen to clean it all out inside and on the gasket surface and you'll probably be good.

mmmmmm milky. That is what my diff's always look like on my Grizz.

On my truck I have made it a rule to change ALL my drivetrain fluids if water is at or above my rockers, AKA almost every weekend. Cheap insurance IMO.

my milkshake brings all the new oil to the diff, and it's like i'm better than before, thats right i'm better than before, you dont have to change it, but they'll gonna charge.

 

yeah that's pretty bad!! but if you drain all of the old stuff out really good and put good new stuff in it should be fine.

I would ditch that 7.5, and throw an 8.8 in.

 

So, could this be avoided if the breath tube or whatever is extended to go higher? Just asking for future knowledge.

 

yes and no it can still get in the axle seals

 

Ok, that is what I wanted to know. Whenever if ever I get my rear end, I will lengthen the tube as much as possible.

believe me, its on my list. but i'm moving in with my brother soon. so i'm street queening it for the time being.

avoid water all together. spent to much money on my front suspension to screw it up. i'm down with dry fl dirt.

no thats not good. But atleast you caught it. Just give it a good clean and then replace the lube.

 

hey michael how much was it for your new clutch, pressure plate, and slave??? and did you have it instaleed if so what did it run you for it all installed? thanks
