best aftermarket shifters

Looking at getting an aftermarket shifter. This is my daily driver. What are your opinions on some of the best ones?

I have heard Hurst is the best.

Isn't Hurst the only option? The FX4 shifter looks nice but it uses the stock "shift linkage" so the only thing you're gaining is a nice handle.

will the hurst shifter use the same extension as the stock shifter did for a body lift?

No....

You need to look at the "3" bodylift extravaganza" thread at the top of the Body Lift section. I wrote an artical on Hurst's and BL's and it's in the first post of that thread. The Hurst replaces the entire shift mechanism.

exactly. but the nice part about a hurst is that u can make it to your height likeing because of the design since all u need is a flat piece of metal cut and 2 more bolts.....cuz short armed people like me prefer to stay in their seats trying to shift into 3rd lol

ya...thats why mine was 2" up and 2" back.......god it was perfect.
