labor cost?

I'm going to get a L/S installed in the back end of my truck and I was giving a price range of 250 300. depending weather or not they would have to shim up the unit, I found out they would need to shim it up so is these prices in line for the install?

thats prolly aabout right man honestly. Maybe a tad bit high but it depends on your area as well. Plus these are the type of things that most people cant just do on their own and they know that, just like transmissions, get paid pretty well to do this type of work and specialize in it.

im surprised its not closer to 400, does this shop have a good reputation for gears in your area? dont just let the shadetree shop down the street do it or you wont get it done right.

$300 is definitely reasonable for that kind of install.
