2002 Shifter fit in a 92

Will my 2002 stock shifter fit in a 92? Need to find out so i can hopefully sell it.

Ask Zach (redneckstone). I think he said that some machine work would be needed to install a late model shifter in his 93 Ranger.

if its another 3.0 i would think so i know that the 2.3 had a different tranny so that might need some adjustments/machineing to make it fit in there

That would make sense, I'll have to ask. But the main conclusion is that it will, is what I am guessing.

no the 3.0L if its the mazda trans is the same. let me psot pics hold on

:edit: the way the shifter mounts is turned i think 90deg from the newer one's otherwise i would already have a level II shifter in here
thus one below should be from looing from the back of the truck forward


this one below should be from the passanger side


HERE is a level II mounted on Silvertanks 4cyl i think 01 the screw nut as you see is east/west on the truck and mine is north/south if that makes sence

So the tranny for the 3.0L and the 2.3L in a 92 are both setup the same way. Damn it.

Was there a 4.0 in 92? Was it setup the same if there was?
