Need Help Quick..truck is at the Mechanic waiting for a quote

Hey Guys,
Ive got a 2004 Tremor 4x4 and dropped off at the local shop because of alot of clunking while shifting. I was told that my entire rear end is toast.. the "pumpkin"in the back, the gears are shot. and both axles have lots of play.. what am i looking at to replace all this stuff.. Thanks for the help.. I just want to know what damage im looking at.

A lot. Better off getting a new axle and doing it yourself.

Agreed. I bet you could pick something up for a couple hundred bucks and bolt it in.

So, i was quoted around 1200 to remove and replace the entire rear assembly with a used unit with 70k miles, its exactly the same with 10"drums.. seems pricey to me but living in NYC and not having my own work space its tough to do anything else but payup..
