"Stubler" transfer case doubler specifically for Rangers

Found this when searching for somthing else:

http://www.4-x-fab.com/Stubler_info.php

May be a repost but what the heck.

It's a kit to convert an old BW 1350 transfer case into a bolt on doubler for crawling your Ranger. Pretty cool idea.

nice, too bad the newer BW1350 doesnt have the front DS hook up that way...

SuperGildo@RRP Dec 19, 2006 10:00 AM

yeah thats been around for a while. you can also use the one from DD machine, and you can use either 1354 or 1350 on either kit since they both bolt up the same, but you might have to have a diffent output/input shaft depending...

i already have a manual 1350 for when I get around to it...

I figured it wasn't exactly new, lol -- I just don't recall it being discussed. Probably not something I'm considering for awhile, if at all. Just stumbled across it when searching for parts for 1354's.

SuperGildo@RRP Dec 19, 2006 04:11 PM

and you can clock it!!

that makes it worth the price right there for me...

d.d machine doubler

I have one of those in my truck. It's pretty easy to do if you have a 1350 or 1354 already and have skills to cut and weld aluminum.

the clocking part isn't as helpful because you can only move it one setting (6*) before you hit the driveshaft on the case.

but the kit is awsome and has good workmanship, and it works great and shifts easily. I wont be able to fully test it until I get the SAS done, though.

SuperGildo@RRP Dec 20, 2006 02:02 PM

lamar colorado huh? I live in pueblo, we should meet up and wheel sometime man!

but Ive even heard that the owner of DD machine has had guys JB WELD the little sealer peice on and had no troubles. not sure if I would ever do that, but its pretty crazy anyway...

Big04Ranger Dec 20, 2006 03:01 PM

jb weld sits right next to my duct tape. first option is the welder tho :biglaugh:

obviously, but not many can weld aluminum...

slammer67 Dec 21, 2006 10:03 AM

I actually did both, I welded the aluminum plates in, but my aluminum welding wasn't the best, so I JB welded the holes to clean it up and seal it. I'm not sure if I would trust JB weld by itself though.

I was in pueblo last weekend shopping.
we should definitely do some trails this spring-after my axle swap

SuperGildo@RRP Dec 21, 2006 05:34 PM

well im doing an axle swap soon as well. maybe not in the spring but soon...
