Stupid hub question

I just bought a 2004 ford ranger extended cab 4 door with the 4.0 4 wheel drive automatic in it. My question is I have a howling noise coming from the passenger side front and I assumed its the hub on that side. It has a vibration in it at 55 I can feel in the steering wheel and it gets worse the faster I go. Is there any way I can put grease in the bearings before they burn up? I'm on disability and have a tight budget is the whole problem. That's why I'm asking. Thank you in advanced

Not a stupid question, no such thing, only stupid answers, lol, which I will try to avoid.

2004 will have a lifetime sealed hub, so it can't be greased, only replaced, also has ABS sensor so not cheap, timken will run $130, Ebay has them for $50

I would jack up the wheel and spin it, see if it is the hub or maybe tire noise.

Good look here on changing it: https://www.ranger-forums.com/drivet...04-4x4-118847/

I asked my brother and he is a diesel mechanic. He said the bearings are burning up and the tire is going to fall off soon. I found one on rockauto.com for $43. I think it might be Chinese but I'll take my chances until I get more money. If it lasts a month I'll buy a good one.

I put 3rd party "lifetime" hubs on my car, $200 each for factory replacements, I used $80 non-factory replacements, been a few years ago now, no complaints or noise, both had ABS sensors, and all is well with that system
