front end noise

I am getting a humming from what seems to be the front end. I have just recently put new bearings on the front, changed front diff fluid, changed rear diff fluid and still have this noise. The other thing it does is when I come to a stop it kind of feels like im going over some rumble strips. All service was done within the last week and this is a 94 stx 4x4 ext cab with the 4.0l. The front drive shaft doesnt seem to have alot of play at all and this is all happening while in 2wd anyway.

Thanks
TJ

wheel bearings
tires are out of round
warped brakes

I don't know what "service" consists of, but unless you ask they wont look at it.

I was talking about the prior mentioned stuff that I had done as far as service goes. I just put new bearings on the front not even a week ago so I will check into the wheels I guess. I would think if the rotors where warped I would get a pulsing when applied. The tires are pretty much brand new as well. I'm just wondering if the bearings I got were just crap. It sounds like its getting worse to.

Could be bad bearings, tires might be new but if the front end was outta alignment the new tires would make noise til they "seated" or wore down to where they were before they replaced.

You said rumble strips to me that is pulsating, not sure what you mean by your statement.

If the bearings are over tightened they will disintegrate quickly making noise and vibration. If this is the case they need to be replaced before they fail.

The bearings have less than a week on them and everything was torqued to spec. Could bad u joints in the drive shaft cause a humming and vibration? Just to clear things up, the only time I feel the vibration (rumble strip) is when I am almost to a stop. Even when my foots off the brakes. Sorry about the confusion guys.
By the way, the front tires have been on for a couple months and I just recently got the rears on. Maybe the humming is coming from somewhere else, kinda hard to pinpoint.

U-joints I believe is a clunking sound not a hum.

Might be a long shot, check your driveshaft. Maybe someone ziptied it.
