Tire/Gear Question
I have 3:55's on my truck now, will I need to change up to 3:73's or 4:10's to run 31" tires?
Will my MPG decrease with 3:73's or 4:10's? What will I notice defferent? Would it be bad to run 31's on 3:55's? I did search and couldn't find what I was looking for. Thanks for the help! -Mike |
you will be fine with 31's and the 3.55's......however you would be GREAT with the 4.10's and 31's......you would prolly get as good if not better fuel milage with the 4.10's as you get now.....city milage will be better, but highway milage prolly will stay the same...

Any idea how much it would cost to get 4:10's installed?
|
when i was calling around to get prices for my gears to be installed they wanted about $250 for the rear and $350 for the front if i supply the gears........
see if you can find anyone around you on this forum or people you know that can do it.......my future uncle-in-law installed my rears for $80 and Scott(big04ranger), gumby(Gumby), and myself installed my fronts in a day......and that was not working real hard all day either... |
Do you know what the gears run? Rear only?
|
prolly looking at about $250 with an install kit...
|
Thanks!

if you put 31's on after owning baby 30's on that truck i will come down and smack you... put 32's on that thing it fits and looks good a nice set of 4.10 gears will wake that truck up and invest in a tuner... plus 32 bfg arnt that expansive mine where $540 shipped from summitracing...

Aren't the stock 15" tires 29" high? I don't really wanna crank the T-bars and I can't afford a tuner yet(mabye if Santa Clause arranges a nice Christmas Bonus...).
