Not cheap but one of the best.
If you do plan to do other modifications, I would wait on this. It wont be as effective with something added on after
3.0 : Bamachips, The Mustang Tuning Source

Let's take the usual setup, 3.73s with 29" tire (many stock 3.0L rangers)
Let's say you want to go to 31" tires
(old ratio)/(old tire diameter)=(new gear)/(new tire diameter)
(3.73)/(29)=(???)/(31)
(3.73)(31)/(29)= 3.98
You need around 3.98 gearing (3.73 or 4.10) and the truck will accelerate/tow the same as before.
33" tires
(3.73)/(29)=(???)/31 => You need around 4.24 gearing (4.10 or 4.56)
You get the idea. Go with the higher number if you want more get-up-and-go and better towing, or go with the lower number if you want better economy. I wouldn't go anything past the equivalent of what the truck was available with stock though (i.e. 4.56 gears with 29" tires).
Definitely do a full tune up though regardless.
Does that help?

You bought a TRUCK .
Trucks are made for hauling things around at a reasonable speed.
They are made to WORK .
If you want to go fast , BUY A CAR , they are made to go faster and corner better.
Again , Trucks Are Made For A Purpose.
