trac-lok upgrades
 

i did search, but i didn't come up with any real info.

the truck is a non LII FX4.

the stock limited slip in my truck is kinda pathetic, with 30,000 miles on the truck i can't justify swapping axles (i would really like a 31 spline w/ disc brakes, then i could also justify a locker of some kind but until then...).

i know i've read info somewhere about rebuilding with extra clutches, and in my search here i found some info on using F-150 springs.

would someone clarify for me? i think i have this right, but i'm not 100% sure.

teardown the trac-lok, and replace cetain spacers with clutches, then re-assemble with the heavy springs. i would assume i need two clutch kits to do this. what should the new clutch and spacer order be?

does anyone have part numbers for the clutch kits, and the springs?

what oil would be a good choice? would i need friction modifier if i use synthetic?

I haven't heard of f150 springs, but i have added two more clutches to my pack. it's not too bad. whats pathetic about yours? like a wheel off the ground you're having problems, or ??

Locker is the best choice. Hopping up a LSD is still going to just wear out in another 30k

what's pathetic in my case is spinning one tire, when both are on the ground, on gravel.

i don't wheel the truck per-se, i just travel some lousy roads, i want to know that both tires will spin when i want them to!

i don't know about the heavier spring, i just read that the F-150 spring is stiffer than the ranger/mustang spring, which should mean more tension on the clutch packs.

i found the ford SVT carbon fibre clutch pack for sale, would that give better results?
