Tranny cooler line woes

Hello EveryBody! My truck is a 94 4.0 supercab with A4Ld tranny with 198,000
miles. Both tranny cooler lines going into the radiator are leaking pretty bad.
I've taken them loose, inspected fittings & lines, cleaned both , put teflon tape on threads & retighted. Still leaking! Any suggestions???
Thanks,
Jeff

Steel Tranny Cooler lines

Hi anybody.
Does anyone know where I can get the steel tranny cooler lines & fittings?
Thanks,

are you sure its not the radiator that leaking?

that would be my guess

^^x2
Someone may have removed the radiator at one time and overtightened the fittings , cracking them at the tank.

I'm back. I've spent a lot of time everyday cleaning the radiator, tranny cooler lines & fittings. The leak is definitly coming from the fittings on thr steel tranny lines. I've taken them loose once more, cleaned & inspected, wrapped with teflon tape & tighted to proper specs. Still leaking!!! I need to find new fittings and, or complete replacement lines. So far no luck. Please help!
Thanks,
Jeff

might be the tape. you should not need to use the tape on those type of fittings

if it were me, i'd replace said hoses with an external cooler. Better than those integrated rad/trans coolers.

Hi. J.T. here again. I understand the concept of using an external cooler, but I think my 4.0 already has one hooked up plus the tranny cooler lines still hooked to the radiator. That is what the cooler mounted in front of the radiator is with rubber hoses hooked to the steel lines that appear to run to and hook up to the tranny is'nt it. Not try'in to be a smarts a--, just dumb I guess. Any input would be greatly appreciated!
Thank,
J.T.

Replace the rubber tubing. They age and deteriorate.
Rubber parts are toast after 5 years.
