Locking Hubs for 01

I'm getting really tired of the vacuum locker hubs that are stock. They always seem to stay in 4X4 low for a long time before coming out of it. What are my options for getting a set of locking hubs? I know the AVM hubs don't work b/c of the 01+ live axle.

you have a live axle not pvh hubs in your 2001. you need to swap to a 98-00 axle set up

Alright so being a live axle is there any real need to install locking hubs? And on the truck not coming out of 4X4 low is that a possible electronic issue or that's just the way it is?

How long is it taking to get out of Low? are you sitting still in neutral with the break on?

your T-case shift motor may be going bad as well, it takes some time to shift from low to high or 2 wheel, but should't be minutes or anything. The stop for the ring gear in the shift motor wears out and throws off the sensor that tells the truck what position its in and that can effect shift time.

Usually I have to back up a few times while turning the wheel to get it to disengage. But yes I turn it to 4X4 Hi then to 2Hi not directly to 2Hi; this all happens while I am in neutral with the brake applied. After getting it to 2Hi I usually proceed in driving back and forth waiting for it to disengage. The whole process does take about 1-2 minutes. However when in 4Lo it operates just fine with the tires never slipping. I love the four wheel drive in it, but the disengaging part does have me a bit suspicious of a bad motor as mikerider stated.
