Transmission Compatability

I was wondering if a t18 transmission can be mounted or adapted to the 4.0 ohv or sohc engine. If not, what 5 speed manual transmissions would work with these engines?

M5OD-R1 is the stock manual tranny from the factory for the 4.0 OHV, M5OD-R1HD is stock for 4.0 SOHC. They would be the easiest to swap.

you could use a t5 from a 2006 up mustang with the 4l but i didnt see yet if the bellhousing is one piece or bolted to the transmission. If bolted one from an s10 with the shifter on the cover should arrive at the right place i think.

I also have a compatability Question. I have a 1994 Ranger 4x4 extcab with a 3.0 and a M5R1 manual tranny, Well...It died at 290k, It was the input or output shaft that broke.
I can get my hands on another 1, But it came off a 1994 Ranger 4x4 4.0. Will this bolt up to a 3.0 is my Question?
Thank you for your time: Kevin

4.0 and 3.0 have different bellhousing bolt patterns
