Transmission upgrade?

I have a Ad4L(probably wrong order) in my '98 with a 2.5L4 is there any way to beef up the transmission so it can handle 300hp? Thanks

You would have a 4R44E in a 1998 4cyl Ranger, which was an A4LD from 1985 to 1994, then new valve body was added with full solenoid shift control and it was renamed the 4R44E

Yes, it can handle up to 300HP with upgraded clutches and parts, you want to change it, internally, to a 4R55E which was for the 4.0l V6
There are also other upgrades like shift kits
