U Joint Question....

Well Ive has this noise for the past couple days. Some people tell me its U Joints others say its the rear end (which i highly doubt).

Now im asking you guys for your professional opinions lol.

When you were a kid and stuck baseball cards on your bicycles, it would make that tick kind of noise. Well when I take off in my truck (just when I take off, or gaining speed), it makes that noise, not extremely loud but loud enough to irritate me.

One other symptom is at about 60-65mph it kind of vibrates from the rear. Not an extreme vibration, just a small one. Its been about 5-6 years and about 80k miles ago sence ive changed them last. When the symptoms started I greased the U Joints for the first time ever, they went away for a day or so, then came back ten times worse.

What do you guys think?

its a lot easier to test it if its an auto but ur not.
you can crawl under your truck and grab the driveshaft right next to the u-joint. try and push up and down on the shaft and look for any movement in the joint or caps. if there is then the u-joint is bad. sometimes there will be no play and it can still be dried out tho. i would prob just change it anyways before i started messing with gears n stuff.

U joints.....80k, could EASILY be that. Always cheaper than a diff also. Try that first. How many miles on the rear?
Mine ticked at about 60k when I replaced them, went away after that.

The truck has about 141k on the clock, they do have some play. I didnt get greasable this time. I think there MOOG...There in my truck. This winter really took a toll on the old girl, I just bought $400+ in parts to get it up to snuff again. Everyone keeps busting my nuts, there like buy a new truck, ide like to run mine as long as possible!

I have an 8.8 with 4:10's open differential.

Thanks alot guys for the help!
