unknown tranny whirring noise? 4r44e?
 

Hi everyone. My 99 ranger 2.5 has been making a weird, brief, whirring noise. It happens when i'm driving in first gear. (its different than the usual 1st gear noise). and it has happened in first and second gears. Today it did it so i started experimenting with it. I turned the ac on and off which didn't change it. I I put it in neutral and it didn't change. It didn't change with engine rpm. and it just faded away, either on its own or when i let off the gas. and it doesn't change with how fast i'm going. If it does it again ill experiment some more. thank you.
