Vac hub question

I was averaging 12.5-12.7mpg before with the stock PVH hubs locked all the time. I bought a set of AVM hubs expecting to see a 1/4mpg increase and to lighten up the steering. The improvement in the steering alone makes the hubs worth buying but when I checked my milage it had dropped to 12.0 mpg. And this is with the hubs unlocked 100% of the time and driving like an old lady since last fill up.

I think that it might be a minor vacuum leak thats causing the bad milage. I didnt do anything to the vacuum lines running to the hubs when I installed the new AVMs. Even though its getting hotter here I have kept my AC off for the most part. What do you guys think?

I would rip out those lines just so you don't get crap in your engine.
